Driver John loaded Gee 185 on Wed 31st May at Port Galice, France ready for its exciting journey back to the UK, after several years cruising around the Mediterranean.

The boat has a fascinating history of racing commencing in 1967 and competing in many Cowes-Torquay-Cowes races. She also entered the first Around Britain Powerboat race in 1969 and again in 2008 when she was crowned the historic class winner in Around Britain Powerboat Race. Read all about her history here www.gee.185.com

Her journey this week must be rather strange for her. No water in sight, but instead a rather sedate and comfortable journey, if not unfamiliar, on our air-suspended specialist boat trailer. And, instead of the usual folks of Chris Clayton & Co at the helm it is driver John at the lorry wheel.

Her journey took her back across the English Channel back into the Solent and into home territory with driver John taking good care of her.

She was safely unloaded into Hamble Point Marina on Mon 5th June ready for a spot of cruising and racing in the English sunshine. Well done John and thank you for ensuring that Gee 185 received the respect and care she deserves!

Chris Clayton said  “thank you Boat Transport Ltd & driver John for bringing her safely and securely back home. It was truly a professional service from start to finish”
