So 2025 was a big year for Boat Transport Ltd, acquiring new equipment.
We had some reliability issues with two of our current vehicles, so sadly after 39yrs with the same manufacturer, decided to make a switch.
We had heard good things about Scania servicing and support; so it felt the right time, to purchase two of their 500hp trucks. Both our drivers are really pleased with the change. The trucks came fitted out with bunks and internal lockers, as well as fridges, microwaves and inverters; and most importantly, The Kettle.
Each driver can spend as many as 190 sleep-overs (Nights Out) – per year; so the cabs are a mix of practical, and comfortable.
So far so good, it looks like we have chosen the best value for money !
NOW IF WE DID NOT MENTION THE STEER TRAILER LAST YEAR
In addition we replaced our biggest/heaviest trailer with a much newer Rear Steering Vessel Carrier. This is a fantastic piece of equipment, which allows us to load and transport the really high bigger boats.The wheels sit behind, rather than underneath the keel; and they steer automatically when the driver takes a bend or a corner. It is a very different method of driving, and only for the most skilled, slow and steady drivers – bizarrely they can make it look easy; cool even..
