Dussledorf in Germany, hosts the world’s largest Boat and Water-sports Show, around this time of the year.
Despite making transports, both in and out of the site over the years, I had never actually been to the exhibition itself, until last week. I decided to take with my youngest, who is always excited to be travelling abroad; so we drove from our home in Hampshire; using Le Shuttle for the Channel crossing, and arrived later the same day at our Hotel for our three night stay.
There are 16 halls of power and sail boats, as well as diving and many other water-sports stands to visit. There are some really fun demonstrations of surfing, diving and canoeing; and, hold your breath, Mermaiding!
It was great to see so many English dealers working the stands; such as Botnia Targa, Nimbus, Windy, Princess, Sunseeker, Jeanneau, Hallberg-Rassy etc.
This is a serious boat show; it even has a Super Yacht Hall! Our biggest highlight was, being “given the tour” of a Princess X80; only £6.5m….
Whatever your budget, if you’re looking to buy a boat, whether new or second hand I would recommend you visit the show, chat with the dealers; and “touch and feel” the beautiful craft. Please take a look at the video and some photos below!
