Just a few weeks ago we were able to video our brand new rear steer trailer transporting a Sealine S48. We were transporting her from Shamrock Quay, Southampton to Penton Hook marina. Normally it can be hard to catch our trips on video but we managed this time. Joe was our escort driver and Geoff was driving the lorry that day.
We are getting to know our new trailer well, though it took a bit of getting used to start with. As those more driving technical amongst you know, driving a rear steer trailer is rather different to driving a normal low loading trailer. It performs differently and there is a lot to think about. The trailer is a fantastic new asset to our family transport business in so many ways. It allows us to carry larger loads more easily and we can get the larger boats lower than ever before. It also extends and so we can normally carry a 50′ boat with ease. It is really useful for carrying masts too due to its ability to extend and then once unloaded we can just close it up again.
